If you’re interested in volunteering with the Penn Yan Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps, here’s some information about their services and how you can get involved:
Organization Overview:The Penn Yan Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (PYAVAC) was founded in 1972 by Bob Flynn. Based in Penn Yan, New York, PYAVAC provides both Basic and Advanced Life Support to the greater Penn Yan area. They also offer mutual aid to nearby areas such as Dundee and Middlesex.
PYAVAC operates 24/7 with a fleet of three modular ambulances. They have 45 active volunteers and staffed EMTs who work tirelessly to serve the community.
Additionally, PYAVAC collaborates with Medic 55, a Finger Lakes Health-based organization that provides additional life-saving measures to the residents of Yates County.
On average, PYAVAC responds to approximately 1,600 calls each year, handling emergencies and providing assistance at community and sporting events.
They also offer inter-facility transports for patients requiring a higher level of care, working closely with Soldiers and Sailors.
